Device kernels merge gki_defconfig for modules build;
forcing them to sign the modules with no certificates
from the gki build available causing breakage.
GKI module signing support will be enabled via config
fragment; so partner builds don't have to disable support
in their fragments.

nf_remove_net_hook() uses WRITE_ONCE() to assign a 'const' pointer to a
'non-const' pointer. Cleanups to the implementation of WRITE_ONCE() mean
that this will give rise to a compiler warning, just like a plain old
assignment would do:

Silencing the instances from typecheck.h is difficult because '= {}' is
not available in older but supported compilers and '= {0}' would cause
warnings about a literal 0 being treated as NULL. While it might be
possible to come up with a local hack to silence the warning for
clang-21+, it may not be worth it since -Wuninitialized will still
trigger if an uninitialized const variable is actually used.
In all audited cases of the "field" variant of the warning, the members
are either not used in the particular call path, modified through other
means such as memset() / memcpy() because the containing object is not
const, or are within a union with other non-const members.
Since this warning does not appear to have a high signal to noise ratio,
just disable it.

The implementations of {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() suffer from a significant
amount of indirection and complexity due to a historic GCC bug:
https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=58145
which was originally worked around by 230fa253df ("kernel: Provide
READ_ONCE and ASSIGN_ONCE").
Since GCC 4.8 is fairly vintage at this point and we emit a warning if
we detect it during the build, return {READ,WRITE}_ONCE() to their former
glory with an implementation that is easier to understand and, crucially,
more amenable to optimisation. A side effect of this simplification is
that WRITE_ONCE() no longer returns a value, but nobody seems to be
relying on that and the new behaviour is aligned with smp_store_release().

LLVM_IAS=1 controls enabling clang's integrated assembler via
-integrated-as. This was an explicit opt in until we could enable
assembler support in Clang for more architecures. Now we have support
and CI coverage of LLVM_IAS=1 for all architecures except a few more
bugs affecting s390 and powerpc.
This commit flips the default from opt in via LLVM_IAS=1 to opt out via
LLVM_IAS=0. CI systems or developers that were previously doing builds
with CC=clang or LLVM=1 without explicitly setting LLVM_IAS must now
explicitly opt out via LLVM_IAS=0, otherwise they will be implicitly
opted-in.
This finally shortens the command line invocation when cross compiling
with LLVM to simply:
$ make ARCH=arm64 LLVM=1

Based on a vote at the LLVM BoF at Plumbers 2020, we decided to start
small, supporting just one formal upstream release of LLVM for now.
We can probably widen the support window of supported versions over
time. Also, note that LLVM's release process is different than GCC's.
GCC tends to have 1 major release per year while releasing minor updates
to the past 3 major versions. LLVM tends to support one major release
and one minor release every six months.

While reviewing a separate patch, I noticed that the formatting of the
commands, variables, and arguments was not in a monospaced font like the
rest of the Kbuild documentation (see kbuild/kconfig.rst for an
example). This is due to a lack of "::" before indented command blocks
and single backticks instead of double backticks for inline formatting.
Add those so that the document looks nicer in an HTML format, while not
ruining the look in plain text.
As a result of this, we can remove the escaped backslashes in the last
code block and move them to single backslashes.

We get constant feedback that the command line invocation of make is too
long when compiling with LLVM. CROSS_COMPILE is helpful when a toolchain
has a prefix of the target triple, or is an absolute path outside of
$PATH.
Since a Clang binary is generally multi-targeted, we can infer a given
target from SRCARCH/ARCH. If CROSS_COMPILE is not set, simply set
--target= for CLANG_FLAGS, KBUILD_CFLAGS, and KBUILD_AFLAGS based on
$SRCARCH.
Previously, we'd cross compile via:
$ ARCH=arm64 CROSS_COMPILE=aarch64-linux-gnu- make LLVM=1 LLVM_IAS=1
Now:
$ ARCH=arm64 make LLVM=1 LLVM_IAS=1
For native builds (not involving cross compilation) we now explicitly
specify a target triple rather than rely on the implicit host triple.

When building with LLVM_IAS=1, there is no point to specifying
'--prefix=' because that flag is only used to find GNU cross tools,
which will not be used indirectly when using the integrated assembler.
All of the tools are invoked directly from PATH or a full path specified
via the command line, which does not depend on the value of '--prefix='.
Sharing commands to reproduce issues becomes a little bit easier without
a '--prefix=' value because that '--prefix=' value is specific to a
user's machine due to it being an absolute path.
Some further notes from Fangrui Song:
clang can spawn GNU as (if -f?no-integrated-as is specified) and GNU
objcopy (-f?no-integrated-as and -gsplit-dwarf and -g[123]).
objcopy is only used for GNU as assembled object files.
With integrated assembler, the object file streamer creates .o and
.dwo simultaneously.
With GNU as, two objcopy commands are needed to extract .debug*.dwo to
.dwo files && another command to remove .debug*.dwo sections.
A small consequence of this change (to keep things simple) is that
'--prefix=' will always be specified now, even with a native build, when
it was not before. This should not be an issue due to the way that the
Makefile searches for the prefix (based on elfedit's location). This
ends up improving the experience for host builds because PATH is better
respected and matches GCC's behavior more closely. See the below thread
for more details:

This flag was originally added to allow clang to find the GNU cross
tools in commit 785f11aa59 ("kbuild: Add better clang cross build
support"). This flag was not enough to find the tools at times so
'--prefix' was added to the list in commit ef8c4ed9db ("kbuild: allow
to use GCC toolchain not in Clang search path") and improved upon in
commit ca9b31f6bb9c ("Makefile: Fix GCC_TOOLCHAIN_DIR prefix for Clang
cross compilation"). Now that '--prefix' specifies a full path and
prefix, '--gcc-toolchain' serves no purpose because the kernel builds
with '-nostdinc' and '-nostdlib'.
This has been verified with self compiled LLVM 10.0.1 and LLVM 13.0.0 as
well as a distribution version of LLVM 11.1.0 without binutils in the
LLVM toolchain locations.

There is no need for CROSS_COMPILE_COMPAT as of v5.16-rc1 via
commit 3e6f8d1fa184 ("arm64: vdso32: require CROSS_COMPILE_COMPAT for gcc+bfd")
when LLVM=1 is set. This was backported to v5.10.89.
LINUX_GCC_CROSS_COMPILE_PREBUILTS_BIN was a temporary dependency until
LLVM_IAS=1 was enabled for all architectures. With LLVM_IAS=1 (implied
by LLVM=1), nothing in this directory is used and the variable can be
removed.
It doesn't hurt to respecify any of the above, but they are no longer

the additional CONFIG_AS_LSE definition and check.

commit dd1f6308b28edf0452dd5dc7877992903ec61e69 upstream.
Commit e0d5896bd356 ("arm64: lse: fix LSE atomics with LLVM's integrated
assembler") broke the build when clang is used in connjunction with the
binutils assembler ("-no-integrated-as"). This happens because
__LSE_PREAMBLE is defined as ".arch armv8-a+lse", which overrides the
version of the CPU architecture passed via the "-march" paramter to gas:
$ aarch64-none-linux-gnu-as -EL -I ./arch/arm64/include
-I ./arch/arm64/include/generated
-I ./include -I ./include

Fix the issue by replacing ".arch armv8-a+lse" with ".arch_extension lse".
Sami confirms that the clang integrated assembler does now support the
'.arch_extension' directive, so this change will be fine even for LTO
builds in future.

Unlike gcc, clang considers each inline assembly block to be independent
and therefore, when using the integrated assembler for inline assembly,
any preambles that enable features must be repeated in each block.
This change defines __LSE_PREAMBLE and adds it to each inline assembly
block that has LSE instructions, which allows them to be compiled also
with clang's assembler.

The 'K' constraint is a documented AArch64 machine constraint supported
by GCC for matching integer constants that can be used with a 32-bit
logical instruction. Unfortunately, some released compilers erroneously
accept the immediate '4294967295' for this constraint, which is later
refused by GAS at assembly time. This had led us to avoid the use of
the 'K' constraint altogether.
Instead, detect whether the compiler is up to the job when building the
kernel and pass the 'K' constraint to our 32-bit atomic macros when it
appears to be supported.

Support for LSE atomic instructions (CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS) relies on
a static key to select between the legacy LL/SC implementation which is
available on all arm64 CPUs and the super-duper LSE implementation which
is available on CPUs implementing v8.1 and later.
Unfortunately, when building a kernel with CONFIG_JUMP_LABEL disabled
(e.g. because the toolchain doesn't support 'asm goto'), the static key
inside the atomics code tries to use atomics itself. This results in a
mess of circular includes and a build failure:

When building for LSE atomics (CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS), if the hardware
or toolchain doesn't support it the existing code will fallback to ll/sc
atomics. It achieves this by branching from inline assembly to a function
that is built with special compile flags. Further this results in the
clobbering of registers even when the fallback isn't used increasing
register pressure.
Improve this by providing inline implementations of both LSE and
ll/sc and use a static key to select between them, which allows for the
compiler to generate better atomics code. Put the LL/SC fallback atomics
in their own subsection to improve icache performance.

The A64 ISA accepts distinct (but overlapping) ranges of immediates for:
* add arithmetic instructions ('I' machine constraint)
* sub arithmetic instructions ('J' machine constraint)
* 32-bit logical instructions ('K' machine constraint)
* 64-bit logical instructions ('L' machine constraint)
... but we currently use the 'I' constraint for many atomic operations
using sub or logical instructions, which is not always valid.
When CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS is not set, this allows invalid immediates
to be passed to instructions, potentially resulting in a build failure.
When CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS is selected the out-of-line ll/sc atomics
always use a register as they have no visibility of the value passed by
the caller.
This patch adds a constraint parameter to the ATOMIC_xx and
__CMPXCHG_CASE macros so that we can pass appropriate constraints for
each case, with uses updated accordingly.
Unfortunately prior to GCC 8.1.0 the 'K' constraint erroneously accepted
'4294967295', so we must instead force the use of a register.

The "L" AArch64 machine constraint, which we use for the "old" value in
an LL/SC cmpxchg(), generates an immediate that is suitable for a 64-bit
logical instruction. However, for cmpxchg() operations on types smaller
than 64 bits, this constraint can result in an invalid instruction which
is correctly rejected by GAS, such as EOR W1, W1, #0xffffffff.
Whilst we could special-case the constraint based on the cmpxchg size,
it's far easier to change the constraint to "K" and put up with using
a register for large 64-bit immediates. For out-of-line LL/SC atomics,
this is all moot anyway.

The CAS instructions implicitly access only the relevant bits of the "old"
argument, so there is no need for explicit masking via type-casting as
there is in the LL/SC implementation.
Move the casting into the LL/SC code and remove it altogether for the LSE
